Blogs have obviously been around for a long a long time and I’ve never felt like I had that much to share that was worth adding to the noise of the internet. Everybody has their opinions about this and that and the general state of the debate on the internet is not healthy and requires a lot of energy to participate in.
However, every now and then I have some thoughts I want to put down on paper and organize a bit and this seems like the best place to do it.
So here we go!
Why it took so long
The first time I’ve tried something like that was at least 10 years ago. I wanted to create my little regex vault and share it easily. This is probably my 3rd or 4th attempt at it. The problem is not that I have nothing to write about or that I don’t wanna take the time (I’m happy to keep this low key and irregular).
My problem apparently has a name : the NIH syndrome. The idea is that if you think you can build the tool for the job, you spend your time building the tool instead of actually getting the job done. So I have several dead github repos with half started blog systems and 0 content.
Let’s write now
I’m done with this. The goal is to write so I got the technical part out of the way and focus on the content I want to write.
If you’re interested, this is currently done with Hugo and deployed with Vercel.
Fairly simple to setup. I have a full environment I’m happy with for now and I’m writing this first post now.
